VASER Hi Def Liposuction is not your typical surgical procedure. It’s performed in a state-of-the-art surgical theater under general anesthesia.
First, your surgeon will fragment the undesired fatty tissue using ultrasound energy, and then aspirate it away. The process is much less invasive or painful than regular surgery. After, they will apply a compressive garment to help aid in the healing process.
Before your surgery, preferable in your consultation, let your surgeon know if you are taking any medications, whether prescription or non-prescription. You should also tell them whether you have any allergies or medical conditions.
It’s important to stop smoking for at least 2 weeks before surgery, because this can affect how you react to the anesthetics. Smoking can also prolong the healing process post-surgery.
You can expect to feel a bit of soreness and discomfort for the days following surgery. This will vary for each patient but generally comes as a tension and discomfort that limits body movements.
In general, the post-operative recovery time is faster for this procedure than for traditional liposuction. You might see some watery liquid oozing after surgery for 2-3 days, but this is totally normal. You can shower and even travel just a few days after leaving the surgery.
The risks of VASER Hi Def surgery are quite minimal but there are risks associated with any type of surgical procedure. You can expect to see localized swelling and bruising, but this should go away after a few weeks.
Very rare complications include heavy bleeding, infections and seroma. These can be prevented by following your doctor’s instructions for proper care post-operation.
